Civilization of a canal  With 34 km in length, 60 m in width of the canal surface, when the water from each side of the canal entered in with 1 km in length only, there were nearly a hundred thousand hectares (ha) of land to be entitled to enjoy the benefits from the canal. |
Geographical location – Population and national conditions  Hau Giang is the large plain located in the South of Hau river. This river is a branch of Cuu Long river which is from Nam-Vang downstream to our country by Northwest – Southeast direction. From Cambodian border to the sea gate. Some great features on formative history  Hau Giang province formerly (1976 - 1991) included 3 administrative units which are now Can Tho city, Soc Trang and Hau Giang provinces. In the end of 1991, Hau Giang province was divided into two provinces: Can Tho and Soc Trang. On the 01st January 2004, Can Tho province was divided into Can Tho city directly under the central government and Hau Giang province as now. |

Priority economic fields for investment call With initiative irrigational conditions, the rice farming area is about 80,000 hectares, in which 70,000 hectares are grown high grade rice (10,000 hectares grown special rice); the rice capacity is stable and obtains about 1 million tons, and the mean rice export yield obtains 350,000-400,000 tons/year; the establishment of “Hau Giang Rice” trademark has been performing. |

Traffic is not allowed to be blocked during the Festival In these days, traffic police forces are making hectic preparations for guiding delegations coming to the Rice Festival taking place from November 28th to December 2nd and they are determined to keep the traffic from being partially blocked at this time. |
The first edition: The paddy grain on Xa No current Xa No canal was dug by French colonialists a half century ago to exploit the uncultivated land of Hau Giang region. With 40km in length, the great value of alluvium supply, alum removal for thousands of hectares of rice paddy has been brought since its formation. |
Xa No Canal – Rice way of Hau Giang Region  Hau Giang province considered as the center of this Sub-area because it is located in the middle and covers Xa No canal, a strategic agricultural hydraulic and waterway works with the effects on the whole sub-area and one of the first canals in Viet Nam digged by dredges in the early 20th century. |
