Focus of epidemic disease management

In the meeting, Vice-Chairperson of Hau Giang People’s Committee, Tran Thanh Lap assumed that the situation of epidemic diseases has been occurring very complicated, especially the interchange time of seasons. The work of epidemic disease management for domestic animals and poultry shall be focused positively by the local departments and unions during the days when the Festival is going to take place and at the end of year. A interdisciplinary staff should be established by Agriculture & Rural Development Service for carrying out the check on and the control of slaughtering and consuming domestic animals and poultry. The inoculations against the epidemic diseases at the 2nd phase shall be going on, and the inoculation schedule should be balanced suitably for the poultry flocks which are going to be consumed. Trading raw poultry including birds in the markets and the areas along National Road 61 line is controlled and prohibited. Promoting the propaganda and helping the inhabitants aware and responsible for the activities from breeding to transport, slaughtery and consumption. The antidotal and sterilizing work shall be carried out frequently; catching and managing strictly the number of domestic droves or flocks in order to issue the books for the standard one as required.

For further Spring-Winter rice crop, Agriculture & Rural Development Service should assign Provincial Agricultural Breeding Center preparing further the provision seed rice source for 5-10% seeding area. Recommending the farmers for sanitizing the fields initiatively, and monitoring the progress of epidemic diseases for the screen rice in Phung Hiep district and Nga Bay township in order to find out the preventive solutions timely. The seeding schedule must be set up by the localities flexibly and suitably with the real conditions for avoiding flood-tide, brown backed rice plant hopper (Nilaparvata lugens), and the infiltration of salty water, ... basing on the common seasonal schedule recommended by agricultural industry.
