The closing ceremony of the first Vietnam Rice Festival-2009

TTO – In the evening December 01st, the first Vietnam Rice Festival closed after more than four days it excitingly took place in Vi Thanh town, Hau Giang province.

At the closing speech, Mr. Trinh Quang Hung, the Head of the Organization Committee, said that the Rice Festival has fulfiled well its role as a place converging, exchanging, associating the national social-cultural-economic activities, especially the Mekong Delta’s granary.

There are more than 400,000 people, scientists, foreign experts, enterprises came to Hau Giang for the Festival, which shows that Hau Giang is not a very afar land but the center of the Mekong Delta, a starting place for the first exporting rice shipments of Vietnam around 100 years ago.

One of the best successful results in the Festival is that the scientists’ and the international experts’ practical contributions which help the quality and the value of Viet Nam rice enhanced in the world market. This event is also an opportunity for the enterprises that came to Hau Giang for finding out about investment chances. Initially, there are 12 investors granted the Certificate of Investment with the amount of capital is more than 40,000 billion VND.

In the closing ceremony, 21 gold cups awarded the representative rice export enterprises, 42 gold cups of “Agricultural God in integration” awarded the enterprises with high quality agricultural products, and the prizes in the festivity of competition on agricultural expansion encourager awarded Hau Giang, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tra Vinh, Tien Giang provinces by the Organization Committee of Vietnam Rice Festival.
