Notice of writing contest of Xa No canal

To respond the first-2009 Vietnam National Rice Festival in Hau Giang province, Hau Giang newspaper holds the writing contest of Xa No Canal.

I. Purpose, demands:

• Learning about the formation and development of Xa No canal.
• To honor the great important role of xa No canal in the economic, cultural, social development and national defence of Can Tho- Hau Giang region and the west of Hau river.
• The importance of Xa No canal to the development of Hau Giang at present and in coming days.

II. Content:

• History of formation and development of Xa No canal together with The historic revolution event in Hau Giang region.
• The role of Xa No canal in formation and development of the agricultural production region in Hau Giang (irrigation, rice production, ect.)
• Formation of well-off home village (residents, houses, fields, ect.)
• Cultural features of Xa No canal (human characters, cultural activities, poetry, traditional songs, country music...).
• Main traffic route: transporting goods, exporting rice,...
• The most early rice exporting place in the South of Vietnam.

III. Regulations:

• Inviting all individuals and organizations in and out of Hau Giang province.
• Genres for the writing contest: reports, memoirs, essays,…
• The writings for the contest should be ones which have not been published, won prize of the contests held by central and local organizations.
• The writings for contest should be on the page of A4 in printing (hand writings are not accepted), readable.
• The writings for contest should be in the sealed envelope with date and pen name (if any), address and writer’s full name.

IV. Time:

• Time for receipt of writings: as of the notice until November 12th, 2009
• Time of closing the contest and giving the prize: November 25th, 2009

V. Prizes:

• The first prize: 01 prize, value of VND 5,000,000.
• The second prize: 02 prizes, value of VND 3,000,000/prize.
• The third prize: 03 prizes, value of VND 1,500,000/prize.
• Consolation prize: 4 prizes, value of VND 1,000,000/prize.
