Ghe Ngo Racing Festival

Ghe Ngo racing festival is to create jubilant and exciting vitality and to welcome the first Vietnam rice festival in 2009 held in Hau Giang province; to form solidarity relation among nationalities communities living in the province and region, exchange, spreading and introducing the image of Hau Giang; to create conditions for the teams to compete, learn experiences and improve the professional skills for trainers, athletes; to continue mobilizing and carrying out the campaign of “all people taking physical exercise in accordance with Great Ho Chi Minh’s example”.

Ghe Ngo racing in the first Vietnam Rice Festival of 2009 in Hau Giang includes 18 teams with 1,260 athletes:

- Hau Giang send 6 teams, Kien Giang 2 teams, Can Tho 1 team, Soc Trang 2 teams, Bac Lieu 2 teams, Ca Mau 1 team, Vinh Long 2 teams, Tra Vinh 2 teams.

- Time: 2 days from November 29-30, 2009 with the opening time of 7:30 AM on November 29, 2009

- Place: on the Xa No canal

- Distance: 1,200 metres

In the opening ceremony of Ghe Ngo racing, there are music shows of units such as Long My Khmer performing team, Soc Trang Khmer artistic team, Cultural centre of the province, Hau Giang general artistic association./.
