Food and drink festival

The food and drink festival, one of the noticeable activities of the first rice festival in Hau Giang in 2009, will be opened at 15:30 on November 28, 2009 in May First Street. From 29 to 30 of November, 70 stalls officially operate for two spells of a day (from 10:30 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 20:00)

There will be about 100 dishes of across the country which are served at the food and drink festival. Most of the food are processed from rice and sticky rice such as rice vermicelli cooked in many ways, sticky rice cake, square glutinous rice cake (filled with green bean paste and fat pork), noodles served with beef, chicken, etc, steamed rolls made of rice-flour, gruel of many kinds. Drinks are multiform such as sweetened porridge (made of glutinous rice, bean etc.), tea of many kinds, candy etc.

While enjoying special dishes across the country, honoured guests are served free of charge many cultural artistic forms such as actors/actresses’ playing music instrument and singing, reformed theatre, folk song and music.
