Ecological-cultural and historical tourist area of the base area of Can Tho provincial committee of the party
It is also called Ba Bai base area, locating in Phuong Quoi hamlet, Phuong Binh commune, Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province. The whole area is built on 6 hectares of land bounded by channels of Lai Hieu, Ca Cuong, Cu and Ba Bai. The prestige consists of halls, huts, bomb shelters, the important conferences of Can Tho provincial committee of the party used to be taken place here in the wartime. Ngoc Hoang swamp nature reserve
Ngoc Hoang swamp named for a famous sunken area is in Phuong Binh commune, Phung Hiep district. Before, this area used to be slushy, reedy, but now there are smooth asphalt roads, green trees, and fascinating green indigo forests from a distance. This is a valuable and rare diversifying biology reserve.
The vegetational cover has a wild feature by seasonal watery flora, abundant aqua animals such as snakes, turtles, watery birds and famous fresh water fishes.
Besides poetic green of the indigo forest, there are fascinating green of sugar canes, rice paddy fields, bamboos, flutes and the poeticness of channels and the sound of Cum Num. Ngoc Hoang swamp is famous for “ a fish pond” and “ a snake barn”. Loc fish, anabas, bong fish (flower fish), white catfish, that lat fish, eels, Cua Dinh (a kind of turtle), tortoises, turtles, snakes are main aqua-animals here… various aqua-animals of the Mekong Delta; Moreover, there are lots of birds such as: grey kites, fire kites, storks, teals, black storks of hooked beaks, sparrows, cum num, nigh herons, ..especially, a diversifying flora and an abundant fauna of 206 species, and the most attraction is 135 species of water birds.

Phung Hiep floating market
Phung Hiep floating market is the biggest one in the Mekong Delta, the convergence of seven river branches of simple names: Cai Con, Bung Tau, Mang Ca, Soc Trang, Lai Hieu, Xeo Mon, Xeo Vong. The trade of agricultural products is busy from canoes, boats with the simple, unique and impressive marketing. The visitors shall be berthed to the snake market from the floating market. The name of Nga Bay snake market is rather familiar to the international tourists. To the snake market, visitors shall be served snake wine and see hazardous snake performances. Nga Bay market sells snakes, turtles, birds, squirrels, varans…all year round.

Long My ecological-cultural and historical tourist area
Coming to Long My, you can see an endless green of cypress, indigo forests with your own eyes. The two trees have gone along with Long My for nearly 200 years. In the wartime, Long My was the the Revolution base area of the western region of the south.
Coming to Long My, tourists have a chance to visit Uncle Ho’s temple in Luong Tam commune set up by Long My Party Committee and people in the year of Uncle Ho’s death. Through fire and sword, the temple still stands as steadily as the inhabitants’ faithfullness to the Party and Uncle Ho. Long My has the vestige area of “ the victory of 75 enemy battalions” built on the area of about 2 hectares in Vinh Vien commune. The first sight here is an eight-meter statue crossing the vestige center. Behind the statue is a twenty- meter nipa leaf, a symbol of Long My region and it shall be a peak attracting tourists from a distance.

Beside the statue is a monumental embossed picture of 20 m in length, 4 meter in height and groups of various size statues showing 3 arm forces and three directions of attacks as well as the war’s typical events recorded and presented on the relief. Especially, the fence before the vestige site displayed with 75 American guns grounded and 75 helmets on, the mark of the failure of USA troops and its hirelings, an unforgettable impression.
Inside the vestige site, there is a gallery of 250 m2 presenting pictures, exhibits, drawings... regarding the wars taken place in the large scale such as the battle wiping out Cai Nai subregion, Quang Phong primary region, military posts of Roc Dua, Cai Son, Cai Cao,...and lots of valuable cubic exshibits.
Coming to Long My, tourists have a chance to visit the unique garden of thousand of storks and more than 30 species of birds of the Mekong Delta set up in 1986 in Xa Phien commune.
