Tra Vinh Beauty


Tra Vinh is a province with 65km of shores and a place with the most beautiful seas in the Mekong delta. Different from the central of which one side are mountains and other side are seas, Tra Vinh is bounded by Tien and Hau rivers, Tra Vinh’s beaches locate siding the isles along estuaries, or endless primeval cypress and arenga forests.

Ba Om pond


Locating in Luong Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh province, along the national highway No. 53, about 7km from Tra Vinh town center to the southwest.

Ba Om pond is also called a square pond because its shape is rather square, the scenery is poetic, the placid pond is about 12 hectares covered with lotus, water-lily, and surrounded by thousands of star trees (sao tree), big old oil trees (dau tree) of strange looking shapes shading the green grass. This is the national famous vestige, landscape recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1994.

Ang pagoda

7 km from Tra Vinh town center, hidden in the Ba Om pond’s big old trees. The pagoda locates on the land lot of 4 hectares in ward 8, Tra Vinh town. Ang pagoda is one of the most ancient pagodas in Tra Vinh Khmer pagodas.

The pagoda is anciently architectural, unique, harmonious in the natural scenery. The gate is decorated with statues of ogres, fairy, god birds – according to traditional design. The ground thickness is 2m consisting of two terraces, the three-step tiled roof supported by twelve fine timber pillars, the top roof is sloping and higher than the two others. Each triangle weathered board gable is carved god master wearing a fine tray and sunflowers. Fas cia boards are stylized dragons, the heads are descending, the feet are stretching along the roof. Scales are bended up which makes the pagoda roof is more higher.

Inside the sanctum, is the room for Thich Ca Buddha worship, which is a place for religious ceremonies of Hinayama buddhism to be taken place. The altar is about 30m2 consisting of four steps. The height of main Buddha statue is 2.1m and there are 50 smaller statues of buddhas (made of stone or timber). There are ten of pictures of the buddha’s life on the sanctum’s walls. On the sanctum’s ceiling are four big frescos of topics: buddha’s birthday, leaving home to be a buddhist monk-nun, reaching the peak of the way in Buddhist’s region, Nirvana. Especially, Ang pagoga has a five -top tower which is recognized as the national cultural vestige by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Ba Dong sea


55km from Tra Vinh town center, in the area of Truong Long Hoa commune, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province. The beaches here are not as beautiful as beaches in Vung Tau, Nha Trang…however, Ba Dong sea, Tra Vinh becomes an ideal destination of domestic and foreign tourists by its wildness, fresh air and sand carvens surrounding Duong forests along the dreamful beach.

Coming here, tourists shall enjoy the sunset scenery in the sea or the sunrise, lying in hammock listenning Duong forest soughing with sea wind. There are “wavy” dunes, green casuarinas ranges and attractive smooth sands. There are many works and infrastructure are invested for tourist potentiality development in Bad Dong sea such as Long Tan bridge, Xing channel, Don alluvial plain, Lang Chime ferry boat.

Nodal Pagoda

Nodal pagoda is also called Stork pagoda or Going Lon pagoda in Going Lon hamlet, Dai An commune, Tar Cu district, Tar Vine province, 40 km from Tar Vine town to the south.

This is a big ancient pagoda with the unique architecture of Khmer culture in Tar Vine, it consists the gate, the sanctum, the tower containing ashes, priest house and meeting house.

The sanctum section designed by the roofs bended in dragon tail shape, pointed tower peaks of Some mountain shape and familiar images such as Rich, the god of four faces Mohair, god bird Kayo, Mahan…

The pagoda is surrounded by bamboos, rows of Sao, Daub (star and oil trees). The inhabitants call it Stork pagoda because for more than one hundred years, the pagoda precinct (of about 3 hectares) has been the domicile for thousands of birds of all kinds: storks, Cong Coca, pigeons, ... stork is a majority of them: egrets, hooked beak stocks, red head storks, yellow head storks, yellow beak storks, black beak storks…

Hang pagoda

Hang pagoda is in quarter 3, Chua Than town, Chua Than district, Tar Vine province, 5km from Tar Vine town center to the south. This is an ancient Khmer pagoda locating on the land of 10 hectares with big old trees and many kinds of birds.

Hang pagoda is one of the most beautiful pagodas in Tar Vine province.
5km from Tar Vine town to the south, over Tam Phuong dam is to Hang pagoda. The pagoda is also named Mongo Ray (Kamponyixprdle), but it is called Hang pagoda because it looks like a cave.

The pagoda precinct is large, its half area is the natural forest, high and bushy trees, a place for many kinds of birds. The main gate is toward the river bank, the side gate is an arch, the wall is very thick. Both sides of the entranceway are two Yak to statues, are men. Yak, which is a goggle-eyed, fang ogre in armour dress, a tick in hand, looks very cruel, is converted by buddha and to be a guard. The role of pagoda is very important in the village, The pagoda is in charge of education of morals, and preservation of the village’s cultural and art tradition.

Ngheu (a kind of Clam) isle attraction

Ngheu isle is in My Long commune, Cau Ngang district, about 10 minutes by motor boat from My Long shore. It is called Ngheu isle because there are much clam here, and it is named “clam mine” of Tra Vinh.

As a dune, it only appears when the tide is out and it is sunk under the sea when the tide is in. Clam is so much that you can pick them by your own hands and enjoy fresh clam at once.
