Chau Nham Son
Chau Nham Son is the antique name of Da Dung mountain. This is an isosceles trapezium limestone mountain (the top is flat and parallel with the foot) with abrupt rocky ascent. So, we call Da Dung (abrupt rocky ascent) to tell it apart with other surround mountains. From Ha Tien town, tourists can take cars or motorcycles to go 7 kilometers along highway 80 towards Xa Xia border crossing and reach grotto (Thach Dong). There is a road the left here. Take this road to continue going 1 more km to reach Da Dung. This landscape is 4 kilometers from the border between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Da Dung is really a masterpiece that the nature creates to decorate Ha Tien more beautifully. This beauty is not only a splendid but also occult as inherent legend of this land. We will be astonished before the natural sight here. Because of natural influences especially erosion, the inside of the mountain has so many grottoes. Grottes are deep, dry, wide and narrow. Some grottes are under the mountain foot. The others are halfway up the mountain. All are beautiful. It is a specific beauty that exists only in limestone mountain with a lot of multiform stalactite. The most famous grotte is Ba Chua Xu one with a combination of many clear grottes. (Source: http://www.kiengiang.gov.vn)
